“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Awaken Your Destiny promotes emotional well-being through advocacy efforts dedicated to fostering hope, celebrating unique strengths, encouraging awareness and understanding, while offering a commitment to education, research, and support for integrated care. After years as a patient advocate, Teresa Jacobson embarked on a journey to promote the need for mental health clinicians and physical health providers to work side-by-side, providing a holistic approach to care by clinicians who can together connect the puzzle pieces of the mind and body. Advocacy efforts have culminated in a manuscript in press, several presentations, and the recent approval to facilitate the American Counseling Association's Interest Network for Integrated Care.
A graduate of Northern Kentucky University's clinical mental health counseling program, Teresa is presently a student of the Doctor of Behavioral Health program offered by Arizona State University. She is currently working towards obtaining a doctorate specifically to practice as a Behavioral Care Provider, within a primary care or hospital setting. As the nation's healthcare system evolves, the DBH clinicial degree prepares masters-level clinicians with a unique repertoire of skills to work in integrated care settings.
